JOSH LEVINE

Biography

Josh Levine is a stage and screen writer with the heart of a golden retriever and an unhealthy obsession for funny women.

Josh most recently worked on the final season of USA’s critically acclaimed comedy PLAYING HOUSE as Writers' Assistant and was Script Coordinator on CBC/Pop’s binge-worthy SCHITT’S CREEK. He also produced the award-winning short film THE NEW 35 and co-created the web series EXTRAS ON THE STRIP featured on WhoHaHa.

For his work as a playwright, Josh received the Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for Comic Playwriting for HOMEMADE, and his ten-minute play PERFECT was a Heideman Award Finalist. In addition, Josh's play, I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU, is published by Smith & Krause in The Best Ten-Minute Plays 2014

Josh received his MFA in Playwriting from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, where he later taught Screenwriting, and his BFA in Playwriting from The Theatre School, DePaul University. He is also a proud member of The Playwrights Union, a group of LA-based playwrights working in film and television.

As a new father and self-proclaimed Disnerd, Josh’s new favorite pastime is whisking his 10-month-old daughter away to Disneyland between her naps.
