I have decided to leave the Dramatists Guild, as I am hoping to focus more energy into my writing and submit more. Thanks to the Kennedy Center Intensive, I am at a place in my writing where I feel comfortable, and happy again, with my writing to submit it to theaters. I'm also going to focus on my applications for grad school. We'll see.
One of the things that I learned while working at the Guild was that sometimes it takes one, two, or even three tries at something before you finally get it, or even better, get it right. I will continue to take that with me wherever I go next.
Thanks to Gary, Maddie, Tari, Robert, Ralph, Abby, David, Patrick, John, Sue, and everyone else at the Guild for making it a great place to work.

Kennedy Center Playwriting Intensive 2007
July 22, 2007
Back from the Kennedy Center Summer Playwriting Intensive for a second year, and I learned more about myself and my writing than I anticipated. The intensive teaches that to become a better writer you have to be the best person you can be, which usually means looking in and recognizing the good with the bad. They're not kidding around when they call it the "Intensive." It has changed my writing, and my life.
Thanks to Gary, Gregg, Cathy, Heather, Melanie, Aaron, Jenn, Rick, Lee, Marsha, Ken, and the list goes on and on and on.
Hello Dramatists Guild Members
April 16, 2007
I have just begun a new full-time job as Director of Membership at The Dramatists Guild of America, which is the professional association of playwrights, composers and lyricists. It's pretty great, as I get to talk to writers just like me all day long and travel to cities across the U.S. to help build a stronger playwriting community. Plus, I'll get to work with some amazing friends.
